Our surface coating with self-fluxing NiCrBSi has been carried out as standard alloy with powder flame spraying by qualified employees as a job coating since 1969.

The self-fluxing alloy NiCrBSi ( Nickel Chrome Boron Silicium ) is sprayed by us in the compositions according to DIN EN 1274 ( alt DIN 32529:1983-10, DIN 32529-1:1976-02 ).

Our experienced powder suppliers who we have successfully worked with for many years produce NiCrBSi as water or gas atomised alloy. The powder NiCrBSi with test report 3.1B is supplied to us with high quality filtering.

The NiCrBSi powder is produced with different percentual compositions. A low Cr ( Chrome ) content makes the alloy softer. A chrome content of ca. 10% corresponds to hardness of ca. 42HRc. A chrome content of ca. 17% corresponds to hardness of ca. 63HRc.

We process the NiCrBSi alloy - according to DIN EN ISO 14920:1999 - with subsequent fusion and vitrification. Vitrification means that we either melt NiCrBSi with an autogenous flame, or sintered it in an oven or apply induction. We sintered at a temperature of ca. 1000°C.

The self-fluxing NiCrBSi alloy is not suitable for any application. For rolling equipment, piston rods and shaft protection sleeves - to name but a few simple cylindrical applications - vitrification can be carried out in horizontal installations without problems. To spray difficult geometries and applications such as e.g. worm conveyors or level surface coatings, additions like Cu ( copper ) and Mo ( Molybdenum ) are required. These additions in the NiCrBsi alloy then represent better edge stability and larger melting temperature range.

NiCrBSi alloys and their composition according to DIN EN 1274 and DIN EN ISO 14920 with subsequent fusion have a particular good resistance to wear and corrosion. These materials are absolutely gas dent and can and must therefore not be sealed.

Self-fluxing NiCrBSiCuMo can be used against many acids and alkalines at room temperature. By adding Wolfram carbide or chrome carbide an alloy with NiCrBSi becomes even more wear resistant against abrasion. Carbides have a hardness of ca. 75HRc/2300HV This is often called a hard metal coating.
